Journals.

I went home to Devon last weekend to see my family for the first time in 6 months... way too long to be away from the beach!! Above is a Phoebe memory arial map view of Westward Ho! Beach (3rd largest natural pebble ridge in the world). The purple line showing our route. The tide was up at the beginning so we had to walk around the sand dunes by the Golf courses to reach the wider end of the beach :).

Brief: As I find pattern and colour so stimulating to work with, I thought it would be relevant to incorporate this into my brief.
Recreate one or two double page spreads from journal. Infuse pattern and colour into the natural landscape of the beach, giving back what inspiration we have taken from the earth- all patterns were once organic.

I only had time to recreate one. I would very much enjoy doing all of them if I had the chance. - Watercolour, watercolour Inktense pencils, fine liner and Gell pen.
