Pittville Pumproom

The first part of this weeks task was to walk to Pittville park and draw elements of the pump room, there wasn't a specific amount, just a personal dose of that we felt was necessary in order to go back to the studio and re create the pump room from just the evidence we had collected.

This is a fine liner technical drawing I made when I returned to the studio, I wanted to get it as perfect as possible using a combination of memory and my earlier drawings. However I didn't collect enough evidence for inside the pillars, so I had to leave it blank.

The last part of the task was to re create the Pump room into any form we liked. Colours!! Pattern, and smooth form, thats what I enjoy to draw!

To be completely honest I picked up a paint brush and let my mind and hand loosen, which is something I struggle with continuously. Im rather pleased with this outcome, I hadn't planned on it being an underwater temple, however its flowing curves and colour pallet indicated once finished that it just wouldn't look complete without a few mermaids setting the scene and scale.
