"A piece of dried fungi" analysis.

 Descriptive sentences/words in order to inspire a starting point.: 

An intricate organic beautiful motif.

It seemed fragile and porous like a honeycomb structure, a little like bone marrow.- dry 

It had a lot of depth, like a sponge which then made me think about a brain.

Experimental ideas expressed though conceptual sketches-

I looked at the interesting patterns it had to offer, deconstructed it's natural flow and reconstructed it into an applied motif for a stain glass window. I then tried to manipulate its qualities into a serial concept; a brain within a human skull.
