"A dried plant pod" analysis

Descriptive sentences/words in order to inspire a starting point: 

This odd object was what I believe to be a plant pod of some sort. It was hard and quite colourful, deep maroon and auburn orange, with small yellow seeds inside. It looked kind of gross, reminding me of some sort of egg sack, or a cocoon. 

Thought process on the page:

I liked the thought of a cocoon, so I scamped a futuristic/contemporary piece of architecture,  following the organic shape of the object but molded it into a sleek, industrial structure.The seeds acting as windows or spherical offices/rooms.  Then as i was thinking about the grotesque egg sack, I liked the thought of a surreal monster insect.
