"A dried nut thing..." analysis

Descriptive sentences/words in order to inspire a starting point:

At first I had literally no idea what this object was... in fact I still don't have any clue to what it is, however as I studied it I noticed that it was light, hollow and quite hard, so my guess would have to be a nut shell possibly? who knows, I'm probably wrong...
It looked hairy, but had a hard spiky exterior, with holes virtically along its side.
At one end it had a beak like root, which is when it started looking like a very strange spiecies of bird.
The other end it had a pair of antenna, antlers or tusks.

Thought Processes on the page:

So with the information I had generated; I took the antler idea and sketched a decrotive, elegant and refined sculpture. And also manipulated it into a quirky, odd looking bird.
